EN |  The objective was to portray a colleague. In my case, my colleague was Fátima Chen. I opted to choose the method of digital manipulation using the Photoshop software. Fátima has a very interesting life that captivated me, it reminded me of the feeling I get when I read a good book, therefore I chose that object as the main element to represent her life. Beyond the Portuguese nationality she has a Chinese one too, her name in Chinese is Chen Ling Jie, it translates to Chen Pure Spirit. In accordance with the meaning of her name, I tried to transmit in my work purity through the sky, the water and the lotus flowers. Submerging her in water was a way to demonstrate the confusion that exists in her head due to the fact that she has to translate the language that she thinks with into the language that she currently speaks. Each page is a personality of Fátima, the Chinese one and the Portuguese. The bottle represents her journey in between the two countries.

 

PT | O objetivo é retratar um colega de turma. No meu caso, foi a colega Fátima Chen. Optei por escolher o método de manipulação digital através do software Photoshop. A Fátima tem uma vida muito interessante que me cativou imenso, lembrou-me do sentimento que tenho ao ler um bom livro, daí ter escolhido esse objeto como elemento principal para representar a sua vida. A Fátima tem nacionalidade Chinesa para além de Portuguesa, o seu nome em chinês é Chen Ling Jie que se traduz para Chen Espirito Puro. Consoante o significado do seu nome tentei transmitir no meu trabalho pureza através do céu, da água e das flores de lótus. Decidi mergulha-la em água para demonstrar a confusão que existe na sua cabeça por ter que traduzir a língua em que pensa para a que fala atualmente. Cada página é uma das personalidades de Fátima, a chinesa e a portuguesa. A garrafa representa a sua viagem entre os dois países.
